Road Closures Over The Next Week
If you’re doing some travelling over the next week, be prepared for some slow downs due to road work.
Highway 17 between Lively and Whitefish has been reduced to one lane in either direction while repaving is completed.
Construction on this stretch is expected to be complete in August of 2019.
Starting today, the city is doing paving and ditching work in Azilda that could close one lane of traffic on Donald Street, Maple Street, Oak Street and Marier Street.
That work will take place between 7 am to 7 at night from now until mid July.
The southbound curb lane of Notre Dame Avenue at Turner avenue will also be closed this Sunday for a sign installation but should be finished that same afternoon.
On Gutcher Avenue, a new water main installation and roadway reconstruction will close the road from Lorne Street to Irving Street.
That work will begin Tuesday and will take place from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm until June 30th.
Elsewhere, a private contractor will close the westbound curb lane on Walford Road, in front of the Lockerby Playground from Tuesday until the following Friday.
That work will be done from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm.
