Home town hero leaving you!
written by Stef, Myriam, Pascal, Sarah , Olivier, Julie, M&M, Liane, Tom, Line, Jeff, Cowboy , February 23, 2010

Hey Luke and Shannon

I'm Joel Brisson best friend and I'm writing this to you because he is a great guy. He was talking to me about KICX 91.7 like non stop and he was telling me about this Home Town Hero Thing. In all of the year of know him Joel has been there for me. Threw the tragic death of my father to the best time that he and I shared. He has been my personal taxi driver to and from work, after hours party and can you pick me up at this remote location. What makes Joe a home town here in Ottawa and in Sudbury that he does a lot of volunteer work because he loves it. He has done so many bakes goods for homeless people that sometime he didn't have enough food for himself but he knew that there was some one who needed it more then him. He has brought friends to hospital and stayed over night with his exam cards studying will his friend would be waiting to be seen by doctors. All of his friend here in Ottawa agree that his smile and love the he has toward us is unbelievable. Here is really the greatest thing that has happen to us. He has a generous heart because he is always welcoming us in his home and cooking us some great meals. When he comes down he cooks for us, we can't get him out of the kitchen. He has a devotion to our man and woman in the military because he always wear red on Fridays. Not only does Joe take care of us but he also take care of his fiancee Sophie that from birth had a heart defect that is called Truncus Arteriosis. Sophie was born without a pulmonary artery and she needs a lot of attention and a lot of visit to the hospital. Joe is not a doctor but when he talks about Sophie medical background he is Dr Joe. Even some of friend call him Dr Joe for all the advise that he has given us in the past. Now with sad hearts we have to say that Joel and his fiancee Sophie must move further from us to small town of Wawa on Friday. They were already 6 hours away but now they'll be 12 hours away from us. Please consider this sweet man for Home town Hero because he can never say thank you to many time and in Joel case he doesn't get it enough.

Sincerely Yours
Joel People in Ottawa.

keep up the amazing work
written by Co , January 17, 2009

Seriously you will go big if you keep up the good intentions. Just a few fixer upper and in no time it will be a great success! Your station keep cutting off and on for some reason and when checking the other they are fine....Sometimes it's hard to understand you guys when you are talking...either you speak too fast or not loud enough or clear so we miss out on some song titles. The listen site can be updated as it freezes quite a bit.
With all these minor set back, I can assure you are the best and have gotten lot of people hooked on KICX
Keep up the good and hard work....this is not a meant to put you guys down but to better our new station....Love ya !

i am really enjoying the country music station. I really like it when you play a real oldie. I do have a problem hearing the dj's at times, I am sure you will tweek that problem. Where can we get station stickers and memorabelia? Does this mean we will get good live qualityy country music concerts again? love the 10 in a row...thanks so much.

More variety
written by kyle , August 28, 2008

The play list needs to have more variety. If I listen to the station all day I always hear the same songs. You guys should play alot more Brooks and Dunn, Kenny Chesney, Tim McGraw, Alan Jackson, Johnny Cash, Hank Wiliams (Jr and Sr), just to name a few.

I still like what you guys are doing but there is defintely room for improvment.
